Weaver applied his training as a photographer to breathe new life into John’s Gospel. On a trip to Israel in 2010, he took 3,400 photos, then winnowed them down to 170 images which he paired with the King James Version of the Gospel of John. This photo essay juxtaposes the centuries-old story with images of modern Israel, creating layers of significance for each photo.

David Kevin Weaver self-published The Gospel of John, Photographed. You can find out more and order your own copy at Four Line Media.
